Swimming Safety

The HLPS takes and analyses water samples from the Partridge Pointe beach.

The sampling procedure is the very same as the procedure used by public health departments to ascertain that public beaches are safe for swimming.

Public beaches are closed when the E.coli reaches 200 per 100 ml.

Here in Hamlin Lake, we have not observed any 'hot spots' due to human sewage, but we do observe that bird feces is the major contributor to bacterial contamination.

The last samples were taken on July 21, 2010.
